DPA - University Catering Services Unit

The University Catering Services Unit, currently operating under the brand name “UniCats” is one of the Units within the Public Relations and Protocol Section of the Directorate of Public Affairs, University of Cape Coast. The Unit is managed by a Manager who is directly under the supervision of the Assistant Registrar, Public Relations and Protocol Section.

The University Catering Services Unit has existed in the university for more than four decades. It has over the years provided professional catering services to the university. The Unit used to be housed at Bungalow 124, hence the popular name “124”.

The quest to properly house the unit to effectively perform its duty as a professional catering wing of the University had been on the drawing board for some time. This vision came to light during Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang’s reign as the Vice Chancellor (2009 -2012). When Prof. D. D. Kuupole took over as her successor, he continued and completed the project in 2016. The University Catering Services Unit’s kitchen and restaurant was inaugurated on 18th August, 2016. The core function of the Unit is to provide catering services for university functions and events. Also, the unit is charged to provide restaurant services to the university community.
